I started playing in 1944 in the Porth-y-Waen silver band on Baritone and stayed there until 1947 when I joined the Navy serving until 1956. I started playing again in 1972 with the Scout Concert Band on Sousaphone. In 1973 I joined the Godalming Band on Baritone and them moved to Bass. In 1979 I moved to Haslemere Town Band on Bass and then moved to Cornet. In 1989, whilst still playing with Haslemere, I started helping out the local Scout Band on Bass and when it amalgamated with the Farnham Band I continued with the Farnham Band. I now play Cornet in the Farnham Band as well as in the Haslemere Town Band. In 1999 I started helping out at the Blackwater Distict Scout Band teaching Cornet
