Graham Robinson

My life in banding started in 1994, with an innocuous computer one liner, sent to me by a colleague I didn't even know! I was in Dorking Police Station using an anglepoise lamp and the front counter as a drum kit, playing along to a radio. When this message arrived from Graham Ingram. It said he was also a policeman and had heard that I liked drumming, and would I like to drum for the Haslemere Town Band. Once I had established this was a genuine invite, and had advised that I hadn't played drums in a band and couldn't read the music, I was still invited. I turned up at the bandroom and was quickly introduced to most people and the kit. All set up and ready to go, I am given some music that looked like a cold laden arachnid had sneezed over it. I wont forget Stage Centre!!!!!!!!! Later that night the Musical Director then, announced he was leaving!!!! I don't think I was the cause........ but you never know. Anyhow the New Musical Director came along in the shape of Graham Wade, and I have enjoyed the time I have been with the band. Honestly folks we could do with more percussionists, having not been born an octopus, with only two hands, things get a bit fraught in the back row!!!!
