The Arts Council of England and Wales has recently approved our application for a grant from the National Lottery. We have received the cheque from the Arts Council to cover the cost of the complete set of new instruments and are expecting delivery of them on Wednesday 19th February.
Part of the money awarded from the lottery is to commission a new piece of music from a ‘recognised’ Brass Band composer. Gordon Langford, who is a Vice President of the Band, has unfortunately decided to concentrate his composing efforts on non brass band music for the time being and has therefore declined to compose a piece for us. We are fortunate in that Peter Graham one of the band worlds notable composers has agreed to compose a piece for us.
