Having been in existence since 1837, the Band has now decided that with the ever-increasing costs associated with keeping the Band alive we needed to attract a sponsor.
Those associated with the Band will remember Denny Clements who was nine years old when he joined the Band and remained a player for most of his life.
During the sixties, when the Band was in the doldrums, with very few members, Denny held the Band together almost single-handedly, conducting and playing at the same time.
Due to this relationship between members of the Clements family and the Band it was decided to approach the current head of the Clement Windows Group, Mr. Peter Clement, who agreed to sponsor the Band for an initial period of two years.
We believe ourselves to be one of the oldest bands in continuous existence in the country and Clement Windows believe that they are the oldest fenestration business still in the same ownership, so this arrangement brings together two organisations with long histories in and around the town of Haslemere.
We are all looking forward to working with the Clement Window Group to the benefit of both parties.
