On 13th October the Band entered the SCABA Autumn Contest which, as usual, was held at Folkestone. We came 6th out of 11 but 4 of the bands that beat us were graded 3rd section nationally and so we effectively came 2nd out of 7 bands.
We played Little Suite for Brass No.1 by Malcolm Arnold. In the week before the contest June Wright, the Band's Flugel horn player broke her arm and so was converted to a one-armed percussionist for the contest, playing maracas (well maraca!) and cymbal.
