On 12th October the Band entered the SCABA Autumn Contest which, as usual, was held at Folkestone. We came 10th out of 14 bands. We were hampered by the fact that we only had 19 players out of a maximum of 25 + percussion. Part of this was because 3 players have only recently joined the band and couldn't be registered in time, but the main reason is that we are 2 solo cornets and a 2nd trombone short of what is accepted as the standard numbers for a contesting band.
We played Patterns by Edward Gregson.
