Last September we were fortunate to have an influx of eight youngsters from the Camelsdale area into the training band. I have been very impressed with the enthusiasm shown by these young players and thought that it would be a good experience for them to enter the music festival. There was a suitable class for players under twelve and we also entered the open class.
On the day two cornet players unfortunately were sick so we were down from six to four players in the under
twelve's. However these four did very well and I was extremely proud of them. In the open class we were competing against a group of Handbell ringers who were very good. It was absolutely fascinating to watch them.
Although we were not in the prizes I have to congratulate all those who took part. Maybe next time!
