On 13th April 2003 the band competed in the Southern Counties Amateur Bands Associations (SCABA) spring contest at Hove.
We had several changes to the band personnel since the lat contest and this was the first contest on Flugel for Graham Ingram. It was the first contest with us for Peter Yarde and he also moved from BBb Bass to Eb Bass for this contest
We played The Cossack in the march contest and came 4th out of 10 with a reasonable performance. We played Promenade for the test piece where we came 9th out of 10. The performance was not up to the standard that we expect, although we thought is was better than 9th place.
